Intuit Introduces Mobile Banking App for Android Phones

Banks and Credit Unions Get a New Way to Connect with Customers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (June 07, 2011) – Intuit Financial Services has introduced a mobile banking application that makes it easier for Android(TM) smartphone users to manage finances from their mobile devices.

The application, offered by the banking services division of Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU), uses the Android’s built-in features to help bank and credit union customers:

  • View account balances and account transaction history.
  • Transfer funds between eligible accounts.
  • Pay bills on the spot.
  • Locate nearby ATMs and Branches using the phone’s GPS capabilities.

“Whether at home, work or out on the town, people are increasingly reaching for a mobile device when they need financial information,” said CeCe Morken, president of Intuit Financial Services and a vice president at Intuit. “If financial institutions are going to remain relevant in the future, they will have to offer insights and services when and where customers need them. We are intensely focused on building mobile solutions that will help banks and credit unions be a meaningful part of how customers live their lives.”

Financial institutions offering Intuit’s mobile banking solutions are already seeing tremendous growth in mobile interactions with customers. People at more than 300 U.S. banks and credit unions actively use Intuit’s mobile Web, text-message and downloadable application solutions to conduct their critical banking tasks an average of eight times per month. Further increasing demand, approximately 400,000 new Android devices are activated each day.

To equip banks and credit unions, Intuit continues to expand its array of mobile solutions, supporting virtually any phone regardless of carrier and providing small businesses and consumers a consistent experience across channels. Intuit Financial Services’ newest mobile applications are available from both the Android Market (market.android.com) and the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (www.itunes.com/appstore/).
