Cougar Mountain Software, (CMS), a developer of accounting software, announces the promotion of several hardworking employees and recognizes others in their dedication to improving business processes. CMS prides themselves on hiring and retaining the best employees in each of their departments, and these announcements speak volumes about the quality of professionalism employed at Cougar Mountain Software.

Lori Pennington is CMS’s new Senior Product Manager. Lori’s responsibilities include determining and designing innovative products and enhancements that enable CMS to continually grow and excel in the industry. She is the lead team member of the market researchers who gather customer requirements to ensure the developed products meet the needs of existing customers and entice new ones. Lori also oversees management of the Custom Modification Division.

Lori began working with Cougar Mountain Software in 2003 as a Technical Writer and later advanced to the role of team leader. Lori holds a B.A. in English, Technical Communication emphasis and an M.A. in Technical Communication from Boise State University. Lori has authored and co-authored multiple articles in trade and academic journals and is an adjunct professor of business communication and general studies.

Kevin Winston is now Senior Systems Trainer. Kevin started at CMS in 2001 as a Customer Support Specialist for product installations. He was promoted to Systems Trainer in 2002, which included a great deal of traveling throughout the United States educating CMS users on their accounting software. As Senior Systems Trainer, Kevin will now be overseeing the daily operations of the training schedule for telephone, on-site, and Road Show classes throughout the US and at the CMS Headquarters in Boise, ID. Kevin has a History degree from Green River College and University of Washington.

Amanda Gutowski also joins the ranks of senior leadership as a Senior Technical Writer and Documentation Team Lead. In 2006, Amanda joined CMS as a Technical Writer working on writing and reviewing all documentation for the CMS Professional and Denali product lines, as well as working as a product and team manager. Amanda has a B.A. in English from Long Island University and a M.A. in Technical Communication from Boise State University.

Dustin Ruiz is now Programmer/Analyst. Dustin began at CMS as an Associate Programmer in 2008, and has an Associates degree in Software Application Programming from ITT Technical Institute, Boise. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering.

Along with these promotions, Cougar Mountain Software would also like to recognize a couple of employees who have dedicated additional time during their busy day to further educate themselves, and improve their business performance and processes in order to ensure that Cougar Mountain Software continues to deliver a quality product.

Renee Galligher has completed and received the Project Management Professional (PMPĀ®) credential. To obtain this credential, Renee satisfied both education and experience requirements that covers all phases of project management from initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing of a project. Renee Galligher is the Director of Program Management for CMS and is responsible for assuring the timely delivery of Cougar Mountain products and services. Renee has been with Cougar Mountain since 1995 and additionally has an Associates degree in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in microcomputer applications.

Mike Weldin also completed his Certified Software Tester Certification (CSTE) granted by the QAI (Quality Assurance Institute). In order to qualify for this certification, Mike completed a three-month study group run by SISQA (Southern Idaho Society for Software Quality Assurance). Mike started at Cougar Mountain Software in 1998 as a Customer Support Specialist. By 1999 he was promoted to a Quality Assurance Specialist, where he is currently the Senior Specialist on the Software Quality team. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from BSU.
