WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 13, 2011) –

Sage North America announced today the winners of its third annual Customer Awards Program. Six companies were recognized at the Sage Summit conference in Washington, DC. Selected by a panel of independent judges with vast experience across the technology spectrum, the awards recognize the outstanding business achievements of customers using Sage products and services.

Best Use of Multiple Sage Solutions: Seventh-Day Adventist Guam Clinic
The Best Use of Multiple Sage Solutions honors a Sage customer who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in implementing and integrating two or more Sage applications and has realized synergies from the combined result. The 2011 winner is Seventh-Day Adventist Guam Clinic of Tamuning, Guam. In late 2009, the clinic sought a way to enhance overall integration between its different systems, increase efficiencies, and improve revenue cycle management. The clinic chose Sage for its ability to interface accounting and HR with its EHR (electronic health records) software, producing a complete end-to-end product suite for the entire practice. The clinic’s suite of Sage solutions, which includes Sage Intergy, Sage ERP MAS 200, Sage Abra, and Sage Payment Solutions, has allowed it to not only gain efficiences across the practice, but also better concentrate on its mission to consistently provide high-quality healthcare.

Community Stewardship: Industries of the Blind, Inc.
The Community Stewardship Award recognizes a Sage customer that emphasizes the local, national, or global community in an effort to better the lives of the people the organization strives to serve. This year’s honoree is Industries of the Blind, Inc. in Greensboro, NC, an organization dedicated to enhancing opportunities for people who are blind to achieve greater vocational, personal and economic independence. Industries of the Blind’s use of Sage Abra HRMS has successfully kept payroll in-house, while Sage ERP MAS 500, coupled with visual aid software, has provided employees with “visibility” into their own work, eliminating the need for assistance and allowing them to partake in all decision-making processes. All of these increased efficiencies have translated into a more productive organization that is better able to meet its highest goal of serving the needs of those who are visually impaired in North Carolina.

Extraordinary Customer Experience: Force Protection
The award for Extraordinary Customer Experience acknowledges an organization that uses Sage solutions to consistently provide an extraordinary customer experience to its own customer base. This year, Sage honors Force Protection, a leading center for blast technology and counter-improvised explosive device (IED) research in Ladson, SC. In implementing Sage ERP MAS 500, Force Protection has now been able to manufacture product that has resulted in countless lives saved with a high level of customer satisfaction. Originally, the organization was producing one vehicle a month, but winning a large federal contract meant they had to produce hundreds of vehicles a year and service them in the combat theater. Sage ERP MAS 500 has kept up with their enormous growth, easily converting Force Protection from a manufacturing business to a service and spares business. This has allowed them to keep up with the changing demands of customers, keeping soldiers safe and satisfied with its products.

Healthcare Best Practices: Peter Christensen Health Center
The Healthcare Best Practices Award recognizes a healthcare organization that has achieved efficiencies in process, planning, and training after a successful Sage implementation. The 2011 winner is Peter Christensen Health Center of Lac du Flambeau, WI, whose implementation of Sage Intergy EHR immediately helped them save money, space, and supplies as well as lead to a 35% jump in revenue, allowing them to add more providers to the clinic. Further, Sage Intergy has helped the center better track patients and appointments and cut out paper altogether. Most importantly, it allows the doctors and administrators to concentrate on their overarching goal: improve healthcare for their entire community, regardless of financial circumstances.

Innovation: Young’s Plant Farm
The Best Innovation Award recognizes the extraordinary achievement of a customer that has adopted Sage applications as an enterprise-class solution for its industry. For 2011, Sage congratulates winner Young’s Plant Farm, a family-run business in Auburn, AL, that supplies plants to both big-box retailers and independent garden centers. Relying on Sage ERP MAS 500 to keep up with high transaction volume, changes in the market, weather conditions, and the ever-changing needs of big-box retailers, Young’s Plant Farm has successfully reduced customer receipt errors to less than 1%. Sage ERP MAS 500 has also allowed Young’s Plant Farm to customize, streamline processes, and be truly flexible to keep up with changing demand from retailers.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Goose Island Beer Company
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an organization that exemplifies the long-term benefits derived from the use of Sage solutions. The 2011 winner is Goose Island Beer Company of Chicago, IL, which produces and distributes 145,000 barrels of beer a year domestically and internationally. Having relied on Sage solutions for nearly its entire history, Goose Island Beer Company started with Sage BusinessWorks Accounting to manage its operations, then later expanded into a full-fledged brewery and moved to Sage ERP MAS 200 to better manufacture, stock, and sell its products. The most notable advantage of Sage ERP MAS is its ability to calculate out to many decimal points that has helped the brewery become highly accurate in production. When Goose Island started using Sage solutions, it produced less than $2 million annually in beer, but, with the help of Sage ERP MAS 200, it has become a company with sales in excess of $35 million.

Judges for the Sage Customer Awards Program were: Paul Clolery, vice president and editorial director of NPT Publishing Group, which publishes The NonProfit Times; Denis Pombriant, a well-regarded writer and researcher of CRM and on-demand computing since 2000 who contributes to such publications as CRM Buyer and CRM Magazine; and Ramon Ray, editor and technology evangelist for Smallbiztechnology.com and author of Technology Solutions for Growing Businesses.

Sage congratulates all 6 winners of its Customer Awards Program, and wishes each of them continued success in the years to come.
