The Best Overall Use Award, part of Consona’s annual Summit Awards, honors a customer that has demonstrated excellence in utilizing multiple products (modules, features, add-on, third-party) and services from Consona. Recipients of the award submit both qualitative and quantitative data that illustrate how the solution has improved the customer’s overall business performance. Award recipients display full use of both core and add-on solutions, steady business growth, a strong return on investment, and a passion for implementing and mastering new technologies.

In September 2001, The Phoenix Group decided it needed an ERP system to manage its diverse products and services and 15 remote facilities, as well as provide a Web solution to remote users and customers. Historically, The Phoenix Group site managers and field representatives took hundreds of orders daily from customers on paper forms and entered them into spreadsheets. The information was later extracted and entered into the accounting system, a manual process that was prone to human error. Administrators had to review each order, check inventory levels and, if necessary, manually generate a purchase order. As such, it was difficult to keep track of which inventory was stored in which facilities or whether it was assigned to specific customers. These factors all contributed to an environment that impeded The Phoenix Group’s day-to-day operation.

After implementing Made2Manage ERP in 2001, The Phoenix Group realized the following returns:

* Tripled sales, while adding only one administrative person.
* Reduced inventory levels by $50 million.
* Saved approximately $80,000 per year in inventory write-offs.
* Reduced turnaround time from receipt of order to delivery from five days to one.
* Generated labor savings of $35,000 per year.
